All about me?
Welcome to The Uncommon Quilt Co. So you want to know about us? I'm flattered! All this began when I decided to teach my 7 year old to start piecing a scrap quilt over the summer. We had a glorious time sewing together leftover scrap fabric willy-nilly. Well, we had such a good time, our quilt ended up being an oversized king with no practical way to quilt it on our own. Enter stage right, the Long Arm Quilter named Brutus! I always knew there were Long Arm Quilting machines out there, but I've been a hand quilter since the day my grandmother started me out with red thread on a quilt she pieced and loaded on the homemade quilt frames I'd crawled under since before I could remember. I didn't know if I could "allow" a machine to do the job that the hands of so many of my family members have done for generations; however, like with so many things, lack of time and attractive new technology drew me in and definitely enhanced my craft. So, I became a long arm quilter! Brutus has helped to make my uncommon quilting ideas a reality and if you're a quilter, you know that a finished oversized king size quilt to snuggle your family under is much better than the pile of scraps you started with. Brutus and I would be honored to help you finish your quilt or learn your story and create something unique and special for your own snuggling purposes.

Meet Brutus
Brutus is an ABM Innova M24 series long arm quilter. He has a throat size of 24 inches and lives on a 12 foot frame. Brutus can operate free hand, but I usually let him take the controls using Innova's Autopilot technology. Brutus and I have been bonding a lot lately as we enjoy more and more time together. But never fear, the hubs still has his time with Brutus as well and they've been playing nicely together.
Live Life Like A Quilt..... Be soft when it's needed, A warm reprieve when it's cold, A reminder of times forgotten, the heart for the family's soul. When torn and need of mending, Needle and thread do the trick. Show love and understanding, Be the binding that ties with every stitch.
